Summer Cat And Fan Tee

A short-sleeve cotton tee with a printed scene across the chest: a long-haired grey-and-white cat sitting square-on, eyes shut and paws tucked, in front of a small pale-blue desk fan on a stand, one sweat-drop flicking off its cheek. SUMMER arches over the pair in a fat hand-drawn face, with fu fu fu~ written small underneath. That is the whole design — chest-height, roughly a hand-span across, and identical on all nine colours.

Straight answers

Fabric: cotton, and that is as far as the maker will go. The spec sheet gives the material as cotton and the construction as knit, then lists the fabric type as "Broadcloth", which is a woven term. Both cannot be true of one shirt. We are not going to invent a blend, a percentage or a GSM to paper over it — it is a cotton knit tee, and nobody has told us how heavy the cloth is. The maker also files the shirt under women while describing it as suitable for women and men; we have not resolved that for you either. What we can weigh: 0.19 kg per shirt, packed.

The sizing runs small, and the maker says so. Its own fit field reads "Smaller Than Usual", and the chart is in Asian sizes — roughly two to three sizes down from US, AU and EU. Read the centimetres before you pick.

Two numbers on the maker's inch column are wrong, and we checked every one. It gives M as 35.0" and XXL as 40.1"; 90 cm is 35.4" and 104 cm is 40.9". The centimetre column above is the one to trust. Allow 2-3 cm either way on a knit garment measured flat.

What we will not repeat

The manufacturer's listing carries the usual unevidenced claims about seam construction and colourfastness. We have no test data for any of it, so none of it is here as fact.
