Ramen Cat Mini Framed Magnet

A mini picture frame, 8 cm tall, with a magnet on the back and a printed scene inside: a wide-eyed black cat with a mouthful of noodles, a steaming bowl of ramen, a pair of chopsticks and a bottle on a counter. The print is built up in layers, so the cat and the bowl stand slightly proud of the tiled background — it reads as a tiny shadow box rather than a flat sticker.

It is almost exactly the footprint of a credit card. Small enough for a fridge door, a locker, a filing cabinet or the side of a desk.

The print

The orange tag on the wall reads 美味しい — oishii, delicious. The rest of the scene is invented: the paper slips pinned behind the cat, the tiled wall, and the two characters on the sauce bottle are all part of the illustration rather than anything you can go and eat at.

Where we have not followed the manufacturer

It calls the frame golden. It is not. Every photograph shows a warm orange-terracotta with a paler rope twist, and where the words and the photographs disagree we follow the photographs.

It advertises four designs. Only this one, the ramen cat, is actually available to order — so that is the only thing this listing sells.

It calls the magnet strong and powerful. There is no strength figure anywhere in the listing and the back of the frame is not photographed once. We can tell you the magnet is there and that the whole thing weighs about 20 g; we cannot tell you how hard it grips, so we are not going to say.

The listing names no material for the frame, so neither do we.

The tan leather-look box in the fourth photograph is a prop and is not included. What ships is the magnet on its own.
