Miniature Gold Baroque Photo Frames

QAR 54,42
Description

Complete five-frame set: all five pictured shapes are included together in one set. They are not individually selectable.

Five very small picture frames, moulded in heavy scrollwork and finished in a warm bronze-gold. They are properly tiny — the largest is 7.3 cm tall, roughly the height of a matchbox stood on end — so what goes in them is a passport-photo crop, a cut-down print, a stamp, a pressed flower, or nothing at all. Several people buy these for dolls' houses and shadow boxes rather than for photographs.

The five are all different shapes, which is the point of the set: stood in a cluster on a shelf they read as a shrunken gallery wall.

What the five are, measured

  • Narrow oval — 5.4 x 7.3 cm, opening 2.9 x 3.6 cm

  • Landscape rectangle — 4.9 x 3.7 cm, opening 3.3 x 2.1 cm

What is in the box, and what is not

The manufacturer's own parts list is five frames and nothing else. So: no photographs — the spec sheet says picture cards are not included, and the pictures you can see in the frames in our photographs are the manufacturer's mock-ups. No easel stands — the small black stands propping up two of the frames in the first two photographs are not part of the set. We can see no glazing and no hanging fixture on any of them in any photograph, so treat these as stand-alone tabletop objects, not as wall frames.

Where we have not followed the manufacturer

This listing contradicts itself on what the frames are made of: the specification field says plastic, while the description text says resin, twice. We cannot tell which is true from the photographs, so we are not claiming either — what we can see is a moulded material with a painted gold finish.

We are also not repeating three other things it says. It calls the detail hand-carved; this is cast from a mould, and the repeated identical relief across the set shows it. It claims the frames give "reliable humidity defense" and protect photographs from moisture damage; nothing here evidences that, and there is no glazing to protect anything. And it lists the shape as round, which is plainly not so — there are five different shapes, and the photographs govern.
